License and provenance

Project

TideLM code, documentation, and project-produced adapter artifacts are released under Apache License 2.0. Preserve the license, NOTICE, model card, base pin, and modification notices when redistributing.

Base model

The pinned HuggingFaceTB/SmolLM3-3B model card and Hub metadata declare Apache-2.0. Its repository is public and ungated. The model repository has no standalone license blob; the related huggingface/smollm training repository does. The audit records URLs, revisions, hashes, authors, parameter verification, and this caveat.

Apache-2.0 permits use, modification, and distribution subject to its terms, including notices and patent provisions. This documentation is not legal advice.

Dataset

Project-authored TideSet records are under CC0-1.0 to the extent the project holds rights. Record-level provenance identifies synthetic generation and lack of independent human review. New datasets require explicit compatible licensing and attribution.

Dependencies

Runtime dependencies are not relicensed by TideLM. Their pinned versions and licenses are audited before release. Base weights are downloaded from the upstream host and are not bundled into GitHub source archives or Vercel.

Branding

“TideLM” identifies this independent adaptation project. It must not be presented as the original SmolLM3 or as endorsed by Hugging Face or upstream authors.
